illystories: 2003 "Borders" 2004 "Monsters" 2005 "Elsewhere"
That is, change, remoteness, difference, borders and eccentricity: These are the themes which, from 2003 to 2005, Scritture Giovani assigned to young European writers under the age of 32 as part of the illystories project.
Each year, illycaffè creates new themes for the stories and publishes selected stories in the fall edition of the illystories series. Several hundred thousand copies are printed and distributed free of charge in illy bars in Italy, Berlin and Norway. The story authors then give public readings in each of four cities: Mantua, Italy, Berlin, Hay-on-Wye in Wales and Bergen, Norway.
